Equifax announced a cybersecurity incident potentially impacting approximately 143 million U.S. consumers. They have also reported that their investigation has found no evidence of unauthorized access to core consumer or commercial credit reporting databases.

The University System of Georgia utilizes two services from Equifax,  the Work Number employment verification service and ACA Management Platform (ACAMP) for ACA compliance and IRS reporting. The University System Office has discussed the matter with their Equifax and has been assured that the Work Number and ACAMP system databases were not accessed during the cybersecurity incident. The USO will continue to work closely with Equifax on the security of our data.
