CRASE Training on the Floyd Campus – TODAY!

The CRASE training on the Floyd campus is today! And, the session previously scheduled for Tuesday, September 12th at the Cartersville campus has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

The Georgia Highlands College Police Department will offer Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training at no cost to the campus community. The seminars will be held on all the GHC Campuses.

The free training sessions are intended to educate civilians on what they should do if faced with an active shooter event. A simple plan could substantially increase a person’s chance of surviving such an attack.

The training sessions are designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, medical issues and drills.

To register for a session, please email Terri Cavender indicating which session you would like to attend.
