Charger Baseball Sweeps in Record Setting Weekend

The Charger Baseball team won all 4 contests they played this weekend, including 2 wins over NJCAA power Cuyahoga CC who won 47 games in 2016 and was ranked as high as #6 in the NJCAA DII poll.  GHC defeated Cuyahoga 12-3 and 10-0 before dispatching Macomb CC 11-1 and 14-4, outscoring their opponents 47-8 on the weekend.

Freshman pitcher Drew Wilson threw the first 1 hitter in GHC Baseball history and the offense pounded out 47 runs in the 4 games (most ever in a weekend), winning a program record 3 consecutive games by mercy rule and scored 10 or more runs in 4 straight games for the first time.

This comes on the heels of GHC setting several other program records, including runs scored through the 1st 20 games of the season, fewest runs allowed through 20 games, fielding percentage in any month, stolen bases in a month, and hit by pitches in a month.  New single game records for stolen bases and hit by pitches are among the other highlights of the young season.

Go Chargers!
