Chargers (9-3) sweep day two of the GHC Border battle winning 5-0 against Cleveland State and finishing the night with a 13-0 win against #10 ranked Shelton State in five innings. Rebecca Meade won game one against Cleveland State throwing a one-hitter in seven innings with seven strikeouts. Micayla McCoy made history throwing GHC’s first ever no-hitter against #10 Shelton State with 8 strikeouts. The day’s offense was led by freshman transfer Hannah Wills (5 for 6 w/ sac), sophomore Madison Gianfala (4 for 5), and Shay Wooten (2/3 with 2 walks). The Chargers have a week to rest up before heading to Faulkner’s Gulf Shores Tournament (Friday/Saturday). The Chargers will also pickup two games Sunday against Enterprise State at their home field to replenish cancelled contests from earlier this season.
