October is Disability Awareness Month

October is Disability Awareness and Support Month which is celebrated by the color of burgundy. It was originally designated in the United States as LD Month in 1985 through a proclamation by President Ronald Reagan. Wear it, tie a bow around your mailbox, or simply pin a small burgundy ribbon on your lapel to raise awareness of this most extraordinary effort. Then be sure to take the time to answer questions and explain its significance when asked. Burgundy’s association with respect to is not well known. We need your help to spread the message! Burgundy supports Adults with ALL disabilities (which includes Breast (any)Cancer, Mental illnesses, Brain Aneurysm, Cesarean Sections, Factor V Leiden, Headaches and Migraines, Hemangioma and Vascular Malformation, Hereditary Hemochromatosis, Hospice Care, Lymphatic Malformation, Meningitis, Meningococcal Meningitis, Multiple Myeloma, Polio Survivor, Post-Polio Syndrome, Sickle Cell Anemia, Thrombophilia and other Coagulation or Blood Factor Disorders, and William’s Syndrome Awareness).

Tuesday, October 20, 2015…..it’s our “PINK OUT DAY” for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS!!! Wear some shade of PINK that day and if you are wearing jeans that day…please, DONATE $2.00 to the Breast Cancer Awareness fund for the GHC Contribution!! We are asking EVERYONE to participate!!!
