Don’t Forget: JEANS IN JANUARY

Do you want to wear blue jeans to work in January? Here’s how:

President Don Green is launching a fun, new initiative allowing employees to wear jeans to work any day of the month in January but you have to pay to play! (Participation is optional of course)

To participate in “Jeans in January”, employees can pay $2 per day or $5 for 4 days for the opportunity to wear jeans to work any day in January they wish – Friday’s are free days.

Employees can purchase as many days as they wish for the month of January and use them as they wish. For example: Purchase 4 days and wear jeans on Thursday every week in January or for one full week in January (remember Friday’s are free) – OR – purchase 16 days for $20 and wear jeans every day in January – OR be impulsive and purchase days as you feel it is appropriate to wear jeans.

Money collected from this initiative will go to the GHC Charger Fund. Participation in the “Jeans in January” initiative is above and beyond any contribution the employee may have already made to the Charger Fund. The Charger Fund is a college-wide effort to support institutional priorities such as need-based scholarships, program development and support, faculty/staff recognition, equipment needs, student success, the alumni association and much more. 100% of your gift directly benefits the college and its students and employees.

Employees that choose to take advantage of wearing “Jeans in January” can pay at the business office or to the business office designee on your respective campuses. Employees can pay in advance for the month or pay as you go.

Once paid, employees will receive a special “Jeans in January” badge that shows their participation. Badges must be worn whenever you are wearing jeans during the month of January. Please note that participating employees should use their judgement on when it is appropriate to wear jeans depending on the nature of the work that they do for the college. This initiative works on the honor system so please do not abuse this opportunity and always adhere to a neat and professional appearance such as business casual attire with jeans. No fraying or holes in jeans please.
