A Free Rain Barrel Workshop is to be held Saturday Nov. 23rd , 10 -11:30 am at Georgia Highlands College, 5441 Highway 20 N E , Cartersville in the Student Center. The free workshop will have all the information you need to install a rain barrel at your own home. Presenter Amos Tuck, Program Coordinator for the Coosa River Basin Initiative, has created the multi media presentation to teach homeowners about water conservation, water wise gardening, and rain barrel installation and harvesting .
The large rain barrels and conversion kits will be available at the Workshop, and pre registered attendees have the option to purchase one for $ 30.00 . Barrels and conversion kits are limited to the first 20 who order . Payment will be received at the Workshop.. The conversion kit uses a diverter system which eliminates the need for cutting off gutter downspouts, mosquitoes, and over-flow valves.
