For this year’s graduation, the Graduation Committee and the Student Life Coordinators are working towards a more defined selection process for student speakers at GHC graduation ceremonies. We would ask your help in identifying good candidates to nominate for the student speaker positions. There are two positions, for an opening and closing speaker. These positions will be for the morning graduation ceremony only; the student speakers for the Nurses Pinning/Graduation ceremony will be named by a different process.

The eligibility requirements are:

• Student must be in line to graduate the current academic year.

• Student must be nominated by GHC faculty or staff.

• Student must demonstrate personal commitment (education, integrity, diversity, inclusiveness, leadership, cooperation, human rights, justice, etc.).

• Student’s college record must be free from suspension, probation or other disciplinary actions.

• Minimum adjusted GPA of 3.0.

• Student should show involvement in community or campus activities/student life.

Please think about your students and nominate someone.

The nominations will be submitted to the Student Life Coordinators at stulife@highlands.edu, and they will make the selections. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, February 28, 2013.
