GHC Commencement 2018

- NURSES PINNING will be held Friday, May 11th, 6:00 p.m., at First Baptist of Cartersville. Note that regalia is not worn for the pinning ceremony, and attending faculty should have GHC ID for admission. (re: Tammy Nicholson email to faculty dated April 2.)
- STAFF VOLUNTEERS are needed to assist with various usher functions to direct foot traffic and distribute programs. To get involved, please contact Lindsay Little at llittle@highlands.edu (re: Lindsay’s Inform dated April 23 for details.)
- STAFF VOLUNTEERS are needed to assist with graduate check-in and processional line-up. To participate, contact Sherri Beideck at sbeideck@highlands.edu (re: Sherri’s Inform dated April 25 for details.)
- FACULTY ROBING will be Upper Level in the Berry & Shorter meeting rooms. Faculty should be assembled by 9:30 a.m.
- MORNING REFRESHMENTS will be provided by GHC’s Chef Jaimie Llovera at 9:00 a.m.
- GRADUATES: Caps and gowns have arrived and are ready for pickup from GHC Bookstore (Floyd and Cartersville).
- PROFESSOR CARLA PATTERSON has been selected as recipient of the Wesley C. Walraven Teaching Award for 2018. Please reference Renva Watterson’s email dated April 5 for details. (Congratulations, Carla!)
- DR. RENVA WATTERSON, VPAA, has been voted the 2018 Mace Bearer to lead GHC’s 48th commencement on May 12. Please reference Don Green’s email dated April 5. (Congratulations, Renva!)
- COMMENCEMENT ATTENDANCE: Faculty are required to attend the Saturday commencement event; absences should be reported to the academic dean. Though not required, part-time faculty are welcome to join the marching line of faculty in regalia; attendance should be reported to the academic dean for adequate seating. (RE: Renva Watterson’s email dated March 7.)
