The Georgia Highlands College beach volleyball team announced their finalized schedule for their debut campaign. The Chargers go into their inaugural season returning twelve of sixteen players from the Fall indoor squad while adding two new ones. The team will practice at LakePoint’s beach volleyball complex, which will also host GHC’s lone home match against Wesleyan College. The season schedule consists of three tournaments and 3 dual matches.
GHC will open up at NAIA school Truett McConnell University February 7 & 8. They begin play Friday morning against the University of Mobile, before returning Saturday for matches against Brenau University and Lagrange College. On February 19 they will travel to Berry College for a dual scrimmage against the perennial power Vikings squad before another tournament March 14 & 15 at Huntingdon College. At the Huntingdon Beach Bash the Chargers will be pitted against host Huntingdon and Erskine on Friday and rounding out Saturday against Wesleyan College and Southern Virginia. GHC will then close out the season in April at the Berry College tournament, before ending with a home-and-home against Wesleyan, April 10 in Macon and April 22 at LakePoint against the Wolves.
Beach volleyball will be coming off the heels of the GHC volleyball program’s 2nd season, that saw the team earn their first victories in program history, in addition to being a central part of the college’s first ever Homecoming.
