Nominations for Employee Awards


It is time to recognize your coworkers who go above and beyond. These awards recognize the dedication and excellence of staff, faculty and administration at Georgia Highlands College.
The categories are:
Department of the Year – All GHC offices and departments are eligible. This award is designed to showcase an outstanding department that promotes, supports and recognizes excellence in teaching and service to students.

Faculty Member of the Year – All full-time faculty are eligible. This award recognizes a faculty member who is committed to excellence in teaching, fosters student success, seeks to improve, accomplishes scholarly achievements and leads the college with collegiality, professionalism and community focus.

Part-time Instructor of the Year – All part-time instructors are eligible. This award recognizes a part-time faculty member with a strong commitment to impactful teaching and student success.
Staff member of the Year – Full-time staff members who have completed their 6-month provisional period are eligible. This award recognizes a staff member that is making a positive impact on the college.
Outstanding Leader of the Year – Any full-time supervisor, manager, or administrator who has completed their 6-month provisional period is eligible. This category includes anyone with direct reports (Chairs, Dean, Managers, Director, AVP, VP’s, etc.). This award recognizes employees who exhibit leadership, excellent managerial skills leading a department and has collegiality, professionalism and compassion toward others.
Teaching Excellence Award – Full-time Faculty are eligible for this award. This award recognizes faculty who demonstrate a strong commitment to impactful teaching and student success.
Updated and added for 2025-Impact Award is now two categories: Faculty Impact Award and Staff Impact Award
Faculty Impact Award -Any full-time faculty member who has completed their 6-month provisional period is eligible. T
Staff Impact Award-Any full-time staff member who has completed their 6-month provisional period is eligible.

     The Impact awards recognize an employee who:
Makes a positive impact at GHC by demonstrating a commitment to innovation, leadership, vision, collaboration, and collegiality.
Works toward moving GHC from good to great by offering innovative suggestions and taking action.
Exemplifies a desire to genuinely support GHC in their position, as well as students and community partners they encounter.

The nomination form is quick and simple and does allow for the nominator to remain anonymous, if they choose to do so.
Nominations are due by June 30, 2025.
