Shared Sick Leave Program

Benefits Open Enrollment is also the time to enroll in GHC’s Shared Sick Leave Program!

The Shared Sick Leave Program allows those who have an FMLA-qualifying situation and have exhausted all of their sick and vacation leave balances to apply to use up to 160 hours of paid leave from the shared sick leave pool. You can apply for hours up to three times per calendar year for a total of 480 hours!

To join, you must complete the shared sick leave form and donate between 8 and 80 hours of sick leave in 8 hour increments (i.e., 8 hours, 16 hours, 24 hours, etc.).  The maximum number of hours that may be donated each year is 80 hours per employee. Hours are taken in January of each year, and you must have at least 40 hours of sick leave remaining after your donation.
