Join the Fun at GHC’s Field Naming Celebration – Here’s How You Can Get Involved!

We’re gearing up for something BIG at Georgia Highlands College, and we want you to be part of it! On Sunday, October 20th, we’re hosting our exciting Field Naming Celebration at the new softball and baseball fields, and it’s going to be a day filled with fun activities, games, food, and more.

This is an incredible moment for GHC as we honor two remarkable individuals—Carol Brown and Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret)—with the official naming of our fields, and we’d love to see our faculty and staff there, celebrating alongside us!

Here’s What You Can Expect:

  • Field Naming Ceremony (3:15 PM): Join us as we unveil the newly dedicated field signage. It’s a short but meaningful ceremony you don’t want to miss!
  • Home Run Derby & Softball Bingo (Bingo at 4 PM & Derby at 5 PM): Ready to see our student-athletes hit some homers? Or maybe you’re feeling lucky with a game of Softball Bingo? Prizes include a GHC Mini Wooden Baseball Bat and a Baseball Helmet Bowl. Purchase your Derby balls or Bingo cards in advance—just visit the “Support the Teams” link on the event page!
  • Inflatables, Food Trucks & Fun for the Family (All afternoon): Bring your family, grab some delicious bites from the food trucks, and enjoy inflatables and yard games. It’s going to be a blast!
  • Bonus Round Showdown (6:00 PM): If you collect a GHC squishy ball, Baseball Helmet Bowl, and Mini Wooden Bat during the day, you’ll be eligible for the ultimate Bonus Home Run Derby with a special grand prize on the line!

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Attendance is free, and we’d love to see our entire GHC family out on the field.
  • Want to take part in the Home Run Derby or Softball Bingo? Head to the event page and click “Support the Teams” to grab your Bingo cards and Derby balls early. Proceeds go straight to our Athletic Fund, so you’re helping out while having fun!

We can’t wait to see you there for this memorable event. It’s a chance for us to come together as a team and celebrate all the amazing things happening at GHC!
