Non-exempt (hourly) employees may elect to be paid for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek or to receive comp time in lieu of pay for the additional hours. Award of compensatory time is, one and one-half hours off for each overtime hour worked. Approved compensatory time is subject to a maximum accumulation of 240 hours and must be expended before the end of the fiscal year in which it was earned. All compensatory time balances on record as of May 31 must be paid out no later than the final bi-weekly pay period in June each fiscal year. Such payment
shall be at the employee’s regular earnings rate at the time the payment is made. Compensatory time
earned in June will carry forward into the upcoming fiscal year.
If you wish to change your comp time/overtime election, please fill out this form, have your supervisor sign it, and return to HR. This must be done by the end of Open Enrollment (November 3rd).
