Please join us in welcoming Jennifer Hand to her new position as Instructor of Nursing at the Heritage Hall site!
Born and raised in Cherokee County, Alabama, Jennifer currently resides in a small community called Spring Garden. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s in Nursing and received her master’s as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama. Prior to joining the GHC team, Jennifer worked as a registered nurse for 11 years. She discovered her interest in teaching while practicing as a nurse practitioner in a rural health pediatric clinic in Northeast Alabama for a year and a half. Through her experience with patient and parent education, she realized that her interest in teaching could be beneficial in preparing future nurses. She decided she would pursue nursing education by teaching clinicals. After teaching clinicals for 3 semesters, she decided it was time to pursue a full-time position in nursing education.
Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the beach, and arts and crafts! She and her husband Matt were married this past November. Jennifer has 2 children, a son age 7 and a daughter age 9. They have 3 dogs Lola, Batman, and Jabbo and 2 kittens Diamond and Zales (short for Meowzales-thanks to her son’s Fort Nite obsession).
Please give Jennifer a warm welcome to her new position at GHC!
