Please join us in welcoming Caroline Askew to her new position as Library Associate at the Paulding site. Caroline grew up in Monument, Colorado and moved back to Georgia as a teenager. She has been in north Georgia for the past five years, and now calls Cartersville home.
Caroline switched colleges several times during her undergraduate degree and attended Front Range Community College in Boulder, CO before eventually transferring to Dalton State College. She completed the last few years of her degree online through the University System of Georgia because she was working full-time. Caroline states: “balancing the responsibilities of being a full-time student and a full-time employee is a familiar struggle to me, so I’m very excited to be joining GHC and begin supporting students currently pursuing their own educational goals through the obstacles that often stand in the way of higher education.”
Prior to joining GHC, Caroline was an Accountant/Assistant Controller for a community bank near Dalton, Georgia. She is the eldest of eight siblings, so several of her life-long hobbies like hiking and camping grew out of a desire to get some alone time! Over the years, these hobbies have become something she enjoys doing with her family. When she is not reading, writing, or in the woods somewhere she can be found attending or hosting an event for her family or volunteering with Georgia CASA. Caroline has one dog named Bear, a very energetic beagle mix that doesn’t understand the concepts of personal space or boundaries – but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Please give Caroline a warm welcome to her new role at GHC!
