It is time for all remaining GHC employees to convert their accounts to using two-factor authentication (2FA) with the Duo application. I’m sure most of you have already heard this new requirement placed on all USG institutions. We’ve already converted almost 200 employees through this process. This currently applies to employees only, but all students will also be required to complete a similar conversion in the near future. We are one of the last remaining institutions to convert employees and many have already begun converting their students.
(We need to have all accounts converted before our drop dead date of March 8th, 2019. Accounts will be be forced to complete the enrollment process or system access will not work after this date.)
Please read the remaining documentation on the sign-up link provided below. There is also a separate public link on this page (and listed at the bottom of this email) that contains all the documentation on how Duo works, some how to’s, specific device information, faqs, and a link in the upper right hand section of the documentation page that will allow you to make changes or add a backup device. This link below explains the 2 steps necessary for you to convert your account. Please take the time to read this information carefully, as it explains exactly what is expected during the process.
Step 1:
- Download the app,
- Allow the app to send you notifications,
- Allow use of the camera for registration,
- Complete the sign-up for your account by clicking “Submit Registration”
After Step 1, please allow around an hour for IT to sync your account with Duo. You can check to see if you are ready for Step 2 by logging out/logging in to webmail (outlook.office.com).
Step 2:
- Complete the enrollment process on your device per the instructions on the sign-up page.

Note: For anyone who simply does not wish to use their personal device or desk phone, you can purchase a hardware key. Check out the documentation page for examples of different options. There are varying options and price points depending on uses you might have for other accounts outside of GHC. There are some as cheap as $15.
