The Chargers hang on for a tough 76-71 home win over the Bucks of Motlow State. The teams traded baskets throughout the first half with the Chargers leading 40-32 at the break. The Chargers opened the second half 9-2 run to extend their led to 15, 49-43. Motlow State found their stride and went on a 18-3 run of their own to tie the game at 52 with 12:02 left in the game. GHC took the led 67 – 65 with 2:19 to go and hung on for the 5 point win. “We hard to grind it out tonight, it was not our best night offensively but we played tough enough on defense to get the win,” said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers were led by Cahiem Brown with 20 points, Khalyl Waters had 12, VJ Saxton with 11, Mason Green and Jalen Knight with 10 each. The Chargers return to action tomorrow at the Corral versus Walters State, tip off 3:00pm.
