Please join us in welcoming Vanessa Ryals-Cook, Admissions Processing Specialist, to our Georgia Highlands College community. Vanessa’s primary location will be the Floyd Campus.

Vanessa was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio until the fifth grade. She then moved to Cedartown, Georgia where her parents were born and raised. Vanessa completed her Associate of Arts in Sociology at GHC this past May, and she became the first person in her immediate family to obtain a degree of any kind. Before joining the Georgia Highlands team, Vanessa was a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist at the Georgia Department of Labor. She assisted veterans that were economically or educationally disadvantaged with barriers to employment.

Vanessa has a passion for natural health medicine and follows Dr. Bob the Drug-less Doctor online. She can spend hours reading information about natural health medicine. Vanessa often discusses health conditions with friends and family. She jokingly calls herself Doc Cook while telling them their bill in in the mail. She also loves going to parks, taking walks, reading, and listening to jazz.
