Summer enrollment continues to trend well above last summer enrollment and we may be on pace for a record summer enrollment. In the last five summer’s, our largest enrollment was 2,174 set in summer 2016. Last summer we were at 2,101 and today we hit 2,060. That is just 41 students away from last summer enrollment and only 114 away from our highest summer enrollment in five years.
We have registered 217 new students so far for summer that include dual enrollment students, transients, and adult students and will begin new student orientations on May 4. For the last three summers, we have averaged 558 new students enrolling so that leaves the potential of at least another 340 new students to register.
Our challenge will be how many end up getting deleted for non-payment. There are well over 1,000 students on the drop list at this time. That is not usual since many wait closer to the fee payment deadline to pay (don’t we all). Please continue to encourage students to pull up a copy of their Schedule Bill to verify they have a “0” balance due for summer or are expecting a refund. Otherwise they run the risk of losing their schedule in May.
Let’s keep encouraging summer enrollment!
