The Chargers hit the road for the longest conference road trip of the season and came away with a 88-73 loss to South Georgia State. South Georgia controlled the game throughout the first half leading at the half 36-30. South Georgia got off to a fast start in the second half as well extending their lead to their largest lead of the game 16 points, 52-36.
However the Chargers had a run of their own midway through the second half cutting South Georgia’s lead to 3, 51-48 with 11:44 left. The next three minutes were the difference in the game with South Georgia going back up by 10, 64-54 and closed out the game for the win.
The Chargers shot 37.5% from the field, and was only 8/34 from the 3 point line, 23.5%. GHC was led by Jeremiah Buford with 18 points, AJ Farrar with 14 points, and TaJuan Johnson with 13. The Chargers (8-7) , (2-1) in conference play returns to action on Wednesday at home versus Albany Tech, tip off 7:30pm.
