The Chargers opened GCAA Conference play on the road at Atlanta Metro College and fought back from 18 points down to take a 89-76 win. The Chargers struggled offensively in first half especially from the 3 point line going 2/12. Atlanta Metro went on a 14-2 run to extend their lead to 18 points, 31-13. GHC fought to close Atlanta Metro’s lead to 39-37.
The Chargers were led by TaJuan Johnson with 24 points, DeMarcus Addie had 18, Khalyl Waters with 13, and Sandro Noel and Jeremiah Buford with 10 each.
GHC opened to second half with a 13-0 run of their own shooting 7/8 from the 3 point line to pull away for the win. ” I am very proud of our resilience today, we got down by 18 points on the road, but we did not quit, ” said Charger Head Coach Phil Gaffney.
The Chargers (7-6) on the year and (1-0) in conference play will return to action on Wednesday at home versus South Georgia Tech. Tip Off 7:30pm.
