The Georgia Highlands College Police Department will offer Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training at no cost to the campus community. The seminars will be held on all the GHC Campuses.
The free training sessions are intended to educate civilians on what they should do if faced with an active shooter event. A simple plan could substantially increase a person’s chance of surviving such an attack.
The training sessions are designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, medical issues and drills.
These trainings will be open to any retirees that would like to join us. To register for a session, please email Terri Cavender indicating which session you would like to attend.
