Following a season that saw the Charger Baseball Team win their first GCAA/Region 17 Championship, several Charger players have been recognized with conference, regional, and national awards.

Three Chargers Earned National Awards:

Sam Sowerbrower – NJCAA Academic All-American

Nick Fink – NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Award First Base

Devin Bilardello – NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Award Outfield

Five Chargers Earned Region/Conference Awards:

Matthew Vaccaro – 1st Team All GCAA

Jonathan White – 2nd Team All-GCAA

Matthew Norton – 2nd Team All-GCAA

Nick Fink – Gold Glove Award First Base

Devin Bilardello – Gold Glove Award Outfield

Four Chargers Were Named to the GCAA All-Tournament Team

Matthew Vaccaro – MVP

Caleb McElwaney – Catcher

Drew Wilson – Pitcher

Colby Taylor – Pitcher

These outstanding players were phenomenal ambassadors and representatives of Georgia Highlands College throughout the year and helped lead the Chargers to establish 24 new team records in 2017 – including wins with 40.  Below are links to some of the press releases:
