Please join the Humanities Department & Students Without Borders on Thursday, April 20th @ 3:30 P.M. in the Cartersville Student Center for the last presentation of the Women’s History Series as we welcome back Lisa Williams, Founder and Executive Director of Living Water for Girls to GHC. Mrs. Williams has been a pivotal force in the rescue and rehabilitation of countless young Georgians from the horrifying world of human sex trafficking. One of Lisa’s young girls, Rachel, is the first American to have her name on a Bill. Thanks to our vote, Senate Resolution 7, also known as “Rachel’s Law” and the “Safe Harbor Law” was voted into existence in November 2016. This law provides care, housing, health, social and rehabilitative services to sexually exploited children. Q & A session and a reception will follow her presentation. This event is open to all GHC faculty, staff and students, as well as the public. Please promote to your students as there will be Extra Credit sign in sheets available. If you would like to make a donation to this worthy cause, please feel free to bring handwritten notes, cards of encouragement, and/or small gift cards to Target or Walmart that will directly benefit the young people Lisa helps to have a second chance at life.
