Chargers sweep their conference opener against Gordon winning game one 2-1 and game two 6-0.

Rebecca Meade would go the distance on the mound game one throwing a full seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and five strikeouts. Brianna Fickes would hit a timely 2-run homerun over the right center wall in the third inning which would be all the Chargers needed for the win.

Game two would also be dominated by the long ball. Fickes would hit her second homer of the evening in the first inning to get the Chargers to a 1-0 lead. That score would hold until the bottom of the 5th when Shay Wooten would hit a three-run shot deep over the left field wall. The Chargers would score two more in the bottom of the 6th off a sac hit by Kaleigh Mobley followed up with Madison Gianfala (3/5 on the day) scoring on a wild pitch. Micayla McCoy earned the complete game shutout allowing only two hits, one walk, and striking out seven.

GHC is now 18-3 on the year will face #20 ranked Georgia Military in a conference double-header this Saturday. Game times are set for 2pm & 4pm at GMC in Milledgeville.
