Lady Chargers head coach Brandan Harrell is trying find the right combination with an injury plagued team and tonight his combination proved well enough for a 59-54 win over the Lady Titans of Albany Tech for a GCAA Conference win.
GHC opened the game trading baskets with Albany Tech throughout the first period , leading 12-10 after the 1st period. Behind Maria Crider’s 2 three-pointers and three assist in the second period the Lady Chargers extended their led to 11 point lead at the half 29-18. GHC had it’s largest run of the night 14 points to lead 46-32. Albany Tech came roaring back late in the 4th period cutting the lead to 3 with 2:00 minutes to go, but that was as close as the Lady Titans would come.
GHC was led by Pam Diokpara with 15 points and 7 rebounds, Maria Crider with 12 points, and Kanisha Tharpe had a double / double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Chargers (4-7), (1-0 in GCAA play) will travel to Gadsden State on Tuesday, tip off 6:30pm EST.
