GHC Lunchtime Fitness Geocaching Adventure – TODAY!

Need some more steps on your FitBit? Come down to the lake on your lunch break on Wednesday, April 27 at noon. Meet in the Pavilion, learn more about Geocaching, and then take a walk around the lake. There are a total of 15 geocaches on the Floyd campus. You don’t have to find them all at once. You can set a walking goal to find a certain number each day.

You can join the Geocaching community by going to http://www.geocaching.com and creating a free account. There are many, many more geocaches in Rome and Floyd County. If you like biking, there are hundreds of geocaches on the Silver Comet Trail. If you like walking around downtown Rome, there are geocaches there as well. Do you like hiking in the state parks? Geocaches can be found along the way. In fact, there is a geocaching challenge to find the official state park geocache in 40 of nearly 50 state parks in Georgia. Do you like exploring historical sites? For the Georgia historic sites, the geocache is often located at the information desk and you gather information around the site that will give you the combination for the lock on the geocache. There are many ways to play. You can still play even if you don’t have a smart phone or don’t want to create a Geocaching account.

What do you do when you find a geocache? What do geocaches look like? How do I find the ones at GHC?

To find out the answers the above questions and more about geocaching, add a few steps on your FitBit and have a little fun, grab your lunch and join us at the pavilion on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at noon.
