During the October Board meeting, the Regents approved a revision to Board Policy 8.2.8.2 Definition of a USG Retiree/Eligibility for Retirement effective October 14, 2015. The revision will allow employees to request a waiver to the continuous service requirement under the policy.
The Human Resources Administrative Practice (HRAP) Manual has now been updated to reflect this change and can be found under the Employee Benefits & Services section of the manual under the Benefit Continuation into Retirement link: http://www.usg.edu/hr/manual/benefits_continuation_into_retirement. The procedural process for an employee requesting the waiver and the Request for Continuous Service Waiver Form is included in the update. As questions come in regarding the policy change, waiver requirements, and process, we will develop a FAQ to make available on-line for employees.
