The Chargers celebrated Sophomore night with a 99 – 74 win over the Panthers of LaGrange College. GHC sophomores Matt Catanzano, Matt Welch, Demarius Morgan, Kentavious Clowers, and Jesse Stroup played their last game at home as a Charger and did not disappoint the home crowd. Sophomore Kentavious Clowers had a huge night with 32 points , Donovan Harris had 20 points, Dominique Lindsey with 12 and Matt Welch with 8 points. “ this group of sophomores started the tradition of Charger basketball and have overcome a lot of adversity and have led the team to the program first GCAA conference playoffs, they will be missed” said Charger Coach Phil Gaffney.

But the star of the evening was our beloved team manager Jesse Stroup who got to dress for the first time. With 3 minutes to go and the Charger faithful chanting Jesse , Jesse, Jesse, coach Phil Gaffney called a time out and put in #1 Jesse Stroup. Jesse hit two three pointers and ended the night with 6 points. T

The Chargers will be on the road on Tuesday March 4th for a first round GCAA Playoff game , opponent to be determined.
