GHC students and employees are invited to an Immigration Round Table discussion that will take place in the Lakeview Auditorium on the Floyd campus Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m.
The Six Mile Post and the Political Science Club at Floyd are sponsoring the discussion. It will feature a panel of community figures and legislators who are knowledgeable on the subjects of immigration and immigration legislation. Members of the panel are expected to include Pedro Marin, Georgia’s only state representative of Hispanic descent, and Layla Shipman, recently-elected chairperson of the Floyd county GOP, among others.
This event is intended to be an informal discussion between GHC students and employees and the community leaders, with the goal of broadening perspectives on the issue of immigration. Some faculty are offering extra credit for attendance. We hope to see you there!
