GHC to host open house for new GHC@Night degree option, waive application fee for attendees

Working adults seeking to grow their career options can begin earning a degree from Georgia Highlands College (GHC) this October through the GHC@Night program. To provide a closer look at the new GHC@Night Associate of Science in Business Administration (ASBA) degree option, the college will host an open house at its Cartersville Site, 5441 Hwy. 20 NE, Cartersville, on Tuesday, September 19.

Attendees can drop by the student hub area on the first floor of Building A from 6PM to 8PM to learn about the degree program and the resources they have available to graduate the program successfully. In addition, the GHC@Night Open House will allow potential students to enroll at GHC, check on financial aid, meet their professors and obtain a road map for all future classes.

Prospective students can also go ahead and connect with an admissions counselor at go.highlands.edu, or apply now at apply.highlands.edu to start the GHC@Night program in October.

“At the open house, you will get a chance to see the space where classes will be held and ask any questions you have about GHC, the GHC@Night program, the classes and your future in the business field,” Dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies Melanie Largin said.

The college will also waive the $30 application fee for attendees of the GHC@Night Open House.

“We want to make sure as many people are able to take advantage of this new GHC opportunity to complete their associate degree in the high-demand field of business in just two-years by attending on-campus classes in Cartersville only one night a week, coupled with one or two online classes per 8-week term,” Largin said.

This program is perfect for working adults and those with families and offers a great way for individuals to establish or enhance their careers.

About GHC@Night

Georgia Highlands College is expanding its class schedule this fall, offering an Associate of Science in Business Administration (ASBA) degree that can be completed in two years requiring only one night a week on campus, along with one or two online classes per 8-week term.

Coming to the Cartersville site and called GHC@Night, the program is geared toward busy and working adults who have obligations during the typical workday but would like to advance in their careers or start a new career. The in-person class will meet on Tuesday nights from 6PM to 8:45PM and has the same low-cost tuition rate as all other GHC programs.

The ASBA pathway was selected because it is one of our most popular among GHC’s adult learners and the institution offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, providing a viable path for ASBA graduates to further their education with an additional two-year investment.

This two-year program has been targeted to help meet the workforce needs of the region, with highly qualified and engaged faculty providing an educational experience that focuses on unique skills to help graduates grow professionally.

The new GHC@Night program option was made possible through submitting and obtaining an Adult Learner Small Grant, Propelling Data-Informed Marketing, Communication and Credit for Prior Learning. The grant assisted the college in surveying current and former adult learners, creating a new adult learner website and bolstering the Credit for Prior Learning program.

As a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia (USG), Georgia Highlands College offers over 40 areas of study including 8 career-focused bachelor’s degrees designed to meet the workforce needs of Northwest Georgia.
