The Georgia Highlands College (GHC) Running Club is inviting the community to enjoy an exciting run around beautiful Paris Lake at the Floyd Campus while raising money for scholarships during the Dollars for Scholars 5K and 1 Mile on Saturday, September 7, starting at 8AM. You can register here.
Your $30 entry fee for the 5K will go to the GHC Foundation, which funds scholarships for local students. The Georgia Highlands College Foundation has been committed to supporting the college since 1973. The Foundation is driven to enhance education, to create opportunities for students, faculty and staff to succeed, and to expand the horizons of GHC.
If you don’t feel up to a 5K, which is 3.107 miles, you can participate in the Dollars for Scholars 1 Mile, which starts at 8:10AM. The entry fee for the 1-mile event is $15.
The Dollars for Scholars 5K is the first major event sponsored by the GHC Running Club, one of several league sports offered at GHC. In June, the team won its first trophy at the Cave Springs Art Festival and 5K.
