QPR Suicide Prevention Training

We can all save lives! For the month of February, we invite students, staff, and faculty to participate in free Suicide Prevention Training provided by the QPR Institute and the USG Mental Health initiative. From the website:

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer – the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Take the first step in saving lives by signing up for innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training utilized around the world.

The 1.5-hour online session includes didactic instruction, role-play exercises and time for questions. Training is live and hosted in Microsoft Teams. Participants will receive an email with the meeting link on the day of the session and training materials after course completion.
