Passports for Life: Holocaust Rescue & Survival Zoom Presentation, Thursday, August 26 @ 7 PM

Title slide Bartow History Museum  On Thursday, August 26 @ 7 PM, join Assistant Professor of Communication Alexandra Reiter as she presents the story of how her grandfather, Stefan Ryniewicz, and the other brave men of the Łados Group, manufactured false Latin American passports to save Jews during World War II. Joining her is Heidi Fishman, the granddaughter of one of the Holocaust survivors who used one of these passports to avoid going to Auschwitz. Reiter accepted the Virtus Et Fraternitas medal from Polish President Andrzej Duda in June 2019, which was posthumously given to her grandfather for his bravery and heroism.

The Zoom lecture is free for the GHC Community. It will be recorded and the recording link will be shared at a later date (the week of Aug 30 – Sept 3). If any professors would like to offer their students extra credit for watching the presentation, please contact Professor Reiter at: amacmurd@highlands.edu and she will provide you with a quiz designed for this purpose.
