GCPA Executive Board openings

Greetings!

The Georgia College Personnel Association invites nominations for our available executive board positions!

We are seeking candidates who are interested in supporting the mission and values of ACPA and are invested in the work of student affairs and higher education within Georgia. If you are a professional member of ACPA, you are also a member of GCPA! GCPA give you the opportunity to serve ACPA in a local capacity and work with your peers in higher education across Georgia, from the USG to TCSG to private institutions. Faculty, staff, administration, and even graduate students are all eligible to participate with GCPA.

Our opportunities, terms, and descriptions are below:

President-Elect: (1 year term, 3 year appointment)
The President-Elect shall participate in activities relating to preparation for the presidency. The President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President in the absence or incapacity of the President.

Secretary: (1 year appointment)
The Secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings at which the Association officers preside and shall conduct the correspondence for the Association as requested by the President. A copy of all minutes shall be forwarded to the President within one week of the meeting.

Treasurer: (2 year appointment)

The Treasurer shall represent the Association in assuring the receipt and expenditure of funds in accordance with the directives established by the Executive Board and shall be bonded as determined by the Executive Board. The treasurer serves a two-year term and may not be re-elected to succeed himself or herself.

Conference Chair- Elect: (2 year appointment: 1 year as elect, 1 year as chair)
The Conference Chair shall initiate and plan all activities necessary to put on the GCPA annual conference. The Conference Chair shall work closely with the Treasurer and Conference Chair-Elect to ensure all financial and programmatic goals are met.

Members at Large- Technical College & HBCU: (2 year appointment)
The Members at Large (Faculty, HBCU, Private Institution, Technical Institution, and University System of Georgia) are important liaisons between the GCPA Executive Board and the institutional sectors they serve. Members-at-Large strive to establish communication relationships with members from each campus in their areas to ensure effective representation of needs. Members at Large are voting members of the executive board.

Professional Development Chair: (1 year appointment)
The Professional Development/ESAP Chair will be responsible for planning various professional development events throughout the year for GCPA members and potential members. This position will also coordinate and run our Essentials of Student Affairs Practices or ESAP Institute. ESAP is designed to provide individuals who work in Student Affairs without a traditional educational background an educational framework and foundation into the field.
 

Web Content Chair: (1 year appointment)
The Web Content Manager will be responsible for upkeep of the GCPA website up to date with relevant information regarding all GCPA upcoming events.  Web Content Manager will assist with posting information on the website for conferences, workshops, seminars, nominations and elections.

PR/Marketing Chair :(1 year appointment)

The Marketing/PR Chair will be responsible for creating/designing branding publication materials to promote GCPA events. Also responsible for maintenance of social media outlets.
