THOMPSON AND YATES LEAD LADY CHARGERS TO WIN OVER ANDREW COLLEGE

The Lady Chargers overcame a tough first half to pull away for the 84-62 win over the Lady Tigers of Andrew College. The Lady Chargers struggled in the first half offensivley trailing 10-8 after the first period of play. The Lady Chargers turned up the defensive pressure on Andrew holding them to only 31.9% from the field for the game and out rebounding the Lady Tigers 51 to 36 and scoring 48 of their points in the paint. “Andrew played a really great first half, my hats off to them, but I am glad the way we responded in the second half to take control of the game, ” said Lady Charger head coach Brandan Harrell. The Lady Chargers were lead once again lead with a double- double by Ciara Thompson, 19 points, and 14 rebounds, Jessica Eadsforth-Yates added 19 points as well and 6 assists, 2 steals, Nijeria Jordan had 17 points. Jahnarria Brown had 11 points and 7 rebounds. The Lady Chargers 15-9, 10-1 in conference play return to action on Saturday at home versus Southern Crescent Tech, tip off 2:00pm.
