Marietta full-time Student Life Coordinator

I am happy to announce that Megan Simmons has agreed to join the Department of Student Life team full-time starting this week! She will continue to be based at the Marietta Site, working hard to engage our students there in the unique surroundings of the larger KSU-Marietta campus.

Megan first joined GHC in a part-time capacity this past Fall Semester, coming to us following a successful career with Cartoon Network and Turner Broadcasting in program development and scheduling. Megan’s efforts in Marietta have seen positive results as more students are participating in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, events, and programs. Building a connection and rapport with the Marietta students has been a prime focus of her limited hours each week, yet she has also brought some new ideas and creative contributions to the programming schedule that we implemented across multiple campuses. She was instrumental in coordinating the guest lecture by Mark McCray from Cartoon Network for Black History Month, as well as the Chinese Calligraphy workshop presented by Marcia Watt.

With the transition into full-time, Megan will now become more involved in other programming areas such as SGA, Orientation, student conduct and judicial affairs, and other points of integration across the college community; as well as becoming more involved in the daily operations in Norton Hall.

Please join me in congratulating Megan on her new role!
