Stretch Assignment – Opportunity at GHC

Are you interested in a new challenge…a stretch assignment? We are looking for two regular full-time employees who would enjoy and commit to:
• Participating in an initiative that will benefit a large number of
GHC students
• Gaining project management experience
• Expanding their organizational and event planning skills
• Learning how to integrate ideas and plans from Finance,
Financial Aid and Human Resources into one comprehensive plan
• Co-facilitating a pilot program for the academic year of 2015 – 2016

Finance, Financial Aid and Human Resources are planning a revamp of the way we interact with Federal Work Study students. Plans are being developed to present position opportunities in a more student-friendly manner, streamline the selection process and create an academic year-based program to encourage students to apply and stay in a FWS capacity for the duration of their time with us.

We plan to pilot a program during academic year 2015-2016. One of the desired outcomes will be to have the FWS students become a group, a cohort of sorts. The program will include short courses on business etiquette, business communication, and other topics helpful to students just entering a professional environment, an opportunity to meet with the leadership team, a team building experience, an end of semester recognition event and more.

If you have an interest in volunteering to develop the program plans and then implement them, discuss the opportunity with your manager and if he/she agrees, then send hr@highlands.edu an email stating your interest in being part of this experience.
