Annual Alabama Shakespeare Festival Trip

Sign-up for this spring’s trip to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery begins Monday, Feb.2, in Student Life at all GHC locations.

This is the 30th anniversary for the weekend drama trip sponsored by Student Life and the Humanities Division.

The trip will be April 25-26 and is open to GHC students, employees, and their guests.

This year’s plays are the comedy “As You Like It” and the tragedy “King Lear.” Both will be performed by ASF’s professional acting company.

This year’s side trip will be a guided tour of the Alabama State Capitol building. It is a national historic landmark and the final destination for the Selma to Montgomery march.

More information is available online at
http://www.highlands.edu/site/asf and the sign-up forms will also be posted there soon. Notice that the trip fee is per person and covers just about everything except two meals.

One of the nice things about the trip is the chance for students and college employees to interact with each other. I hope some of you will want to go this year. A $50 deposit is needed to hold a spot in the trip, and it usually fills up before the sign-up deadline, which is March 2.

Student Life coordinators or I can answer any questions.
