2013/2014 FLU SEASON – Flu Shot Information

Flu vaccines will be covered at 100% for employees and dependents enrolled in the Open Access POS plan, HSA Open Access POS plan or BlueChoice HMO at an in-network providers’ office or at the local pharmacy (such as Walgreens, Kroger, etc.)!

How the flu shot is paid:

  • For pharmacy setting – the pharmacy should run the flu-vaccine under the employees’/members’ pharmacy benefits and plan picks up 100% of the cost.
  • For in-network doctor’s office setting – the doctor should run the flu-vaccine under the employees’/members’ medical benefits and plan picks up 100% of the cost.
  • For on-site clinic or student health center – employee or member will have to pay out-of-pocket at the point of service and fax a copy of their receipt and member ID card to the BCBSGa Flu Shot Reimbursement Claims fax line at 1-866-238-9959. The plan will reimburse the employee or member.
  • Flu shots received at out-of-network provider’s office are not covered.
